Sony’s BDP-S560 Blu-ray Disc Player delivers full HD 1080/60p and 24p True Cinema output, decodes the latest advanced audio codecs, and is BD-Live capable with your broadband internet connection (and purchase of external memory). It supports Dolby TrueHD and dts-HD audio codecs for up to 7.1 channels of high-definition sound, and there’s even quick start-up mode, which begins operating your Blu-ray Disc player in approximately six seconds from the time it is powered on. And navigation of the player’s menus is a breeze thanks to the icon-based Xross Media Bar (XMB) menu system.
Set up is a no-brainer. Loads quickly. Picture quality is rich and vivid on my Philips 42PFL5603D, (incidentally a TV I can highly recommend as a thing of beauty for the sad and lonely!)
The real pro for me is that the blur on any image that moves fast on the horizontal (forgive me, I’m sure there’s a short technical term for this but I’m a luddite!) is eradicated. As for the sound quality, my 5.1 has a whole new lease of life. The remote is also friendly to the hard of thinking.
I had my doubts about the Blu-ray revolution and was sure that DVD upscaling was just as effective. I was wrong.
I’m also not really sad and lonely! Buyer enjoy!
I just bought this player as an upgrade to my older Samsung BD-P1000 and I must say I am extremely pleased with this player. It was very easy to set up and to operate. I have it connected to my Onkyo TX-SR705 with 7.1 speaker set-up which makes use of the lossless sound decoders. Hearing a movie in DTS- HD Master Audio has been a real experience especially on 7.1 soundtracks. My only complaint (which is minor) is that you have to manually operate the tray open and close from the player itself. This is another great Blu-ray player from Sony. I recommend you buy this player.
